Youth in Little Haiti are on a ‘cradle to prison’ pathway that costs more than the educational solutions to fix it. They live in extreme poverty, some with no electricity or running water and are exposed to violence, drugs, and poverty-related trauma. By providing a safe space to utilize art as a creative thinking tool to improve educational and career development, this project takes action to halt the “cradle to prison” scenario for 75 youth and empowers them towards successful futures.
Solution
The mission of Art Studio Inc, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is to empower young minds by providing a safe location where youth are inspired and guided by artists, teachers, professionals and mentors who through the implementation of LIFE ARTS programs, support the student's education and career development through the integration of creative holistic arts.
Provide a prevention program using arts integration for 75 at-risk youth three days a week in the impoverished Little Haiti community of Miami, FL including meals, mentoring, and educational support
