The U.S. is experiencing a drop-out crisis. Every 29 seconds an American youth drops out of high school - that's 7,000 young people per day or 1.2 million each year. One-third of all high school students, and nearly half of all African American and Latino youth, do not graduate. The individual and societal effects of this crisis are staggering: over their lifetimes, on average, high school graduates earn $300,000 more than drop-outs. College graduates earn an additional $1 million.

NFTE's mission is to provide programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures.
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) provides programs that inspire at-risk young people to stay in school, recognize business opportunities, and plan for successful futures. $100,000 will fully support all entrepreneurship class supplies for 1,000 students.

Long-Term Impact

By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with almost 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
