Challenge

Domestic violence victims are often forced to leave their pets behind when they flee violent homes. This is devastating to the family and also exposes the pet to abuse when left alone with the violent individual in the home who is now even angrier that his American wife and children have escaped and gone back to the USA. Roxy has already been abused by the violent man in the home just like Beth, Sarah & Jason. Roxy is an innocent victim too. She needs your help to get home.

Solution

We work with abused American women and children in foreign countries to provide domestic violence, child abuse advocacy and sexual assault advocacy, resources and tools so that they can navigate the complicated jurisdictional, legal & social international landscapes, to be able to live free of abuse either in the foreign country or back in the United States via an international toll free crisis line, 866-USWOMEN, accessible from 175 countries, serving a population estimated at 7 million American civilians living overseas, 1.1 million military personnel and their dependents and the 68 million Americans that travel overseas every year.
Roxy is the beloved family dog of an American woman, Beth, and her two children, Sarah 8 and Jason 10, who are escaping domestic violence from Albania and fleeing back to the USA for safety. Beth can get a repatriation loan from the American Embassy, but they won't include shipping costs for Roxy. If Roxy is left behind, Sarah & Jason will be devastated and Roxy will be abused. Please help get Roxy home by donating the cost for a shipping crate and to ship her home to her family.

Long-Term Impact

This project will help one family free themselves of domestic violence with their pet Roxy, stop the abuse of Roxy and keep them together as they rebuild a healthy life away from domestic violence.
