The Detroit area continues to face a number challenges, and desperately needs strong youth advocates to spark change at the grassroots level. After a careful review of their needs assessment and a discussion about issues impacting youth in the Detroit area, TGI members decided to focus their grantmaking this year on education and health.

Our Mission: The Center for Arab American Philanthropy strengthens the impact of strategic Arab American giving through education, asset building and grantmaking, in order to improve lives and build vibrant communities. Our Vision: The Center for Arab American Philanthropy is building a legacy of giving in the Arab American community, shaping the future of our society through the collective power of our philanthropy and empowering the community to be change makers and community builders. ACCESS, a nonprofit based in Dearborn, Mich., established CAAP in 2005 to strengthen the impact of Arab American philanthropy and leverage individual giving locally and nationally.
TGI is the only Arab American youth philanthropy program in the country. This unique model teaches high school students about community issues, grantmaking, nonprofit management, communication and compromise, and community leadership. This year, the youth decided to focus their grantmaking priorities on academic success and access to healthcare, and have set a goal of granting $5000 to youth-serving organizations in the Detroit area.

Long-Term Impact

By supporting the TGI program, you will give minority youth a voice for change in their community, while also benefiting a multitude of individuals served by education and health nonprofits.
